The Folklore Guy was a minor character in The Grudge 2 and an associate of Eason.
Biography[]
After Eason had retrieved Kayako's journal from the house, he got into contact with his associate, the Folklore Guy, to help him decipher some of the Japanese text.
The Folklore Guy deciphered the text and revealed that Kayako Saeki had an abusive childhood, growing up with an Itako mother that force fed her evil spirits that she extracted from her customers. This leads to Aubrey Davis and Eason making plans to go visit Kayako’s mother and see if she can help them stop the curse.
The Folklore Guy is not seen after this, and it is unknown if he got the curse from Eason and Aubrey.
